Vintage Rare Wilkinson Sword Sticky Safety Razor Made in England.
The Wilkinson Sword Sticky Vintage Safety Razor is highly regarded by collectors of vintage razors. Unfortunately the Sticky is a very rare razor and there are very few around and those that own one are very reluctant to sell them.
This is a razor that feels just right in the hand, the weight, the dimensions, the balance and the design are outstanding.
The razor itself is in a very good like new condition. The box has signs of wear/age also the plastic case is chipped/broken in a few of places. The head is very shiny and bright, the handle is in excellent condition and the twist to open butterfly doors work perfectly. There are NO blades with the razor
Designed by Kenneth Grange who also designed the Kodak Instamatic 133-X, the iconic Bowers & Wilkins stereo speakers and the redesigned Black London cab.
The Sticky won an award by the London Centre For Design and it has even been exhibited in The Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
The name Sticky is down to the handle which is smooth to the touch when dry but becomes non-slip when wet. The handle is moulded from a very hard plastic material. Don't confuse plastic with cheap and light, the Sticky is anything but!
Designed in 1967 and patented in the UK in 1968 and in the USA in 1970.
